VVP, VVPng, VVPngd are wires with copper conductors, PVC insulation and sheath. They are designed for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy in stationary installations for a rated alternating voltage of 380/660 V or a constant voltage of up to 1000 V.

 Applicability scope

The VVP wire is used for laying external or internal wiring, installing electrical circuits in walls, hollow channels of building structures, on boards, in damp and dry rooms, for installing lighting and power networks. Due to its flat shape, it can also be conveniently positioned in gutters under plaster and in wiring ducts.

This copper wire also help to power electric convectors, lamps, stationary electric machines, AC voltage stabilizers, switchboards, etc. VVP is used for stationary installation and fixed installation of machines, machine tools, mechanisms, as well as electrical equipment, provided that there is no mechanical stress on the wire, and no stranding and stretching.

Design

According to its design, VVP is a two- or three-conductor wire with a single-wire copper conductor (class 1 of the National Standards of Ukraine EN 60228). The flexibility class of the conductor indicates that the VVP is used exclusively in stationary and fixed installation conditions.

The nominal cross-section of each conductor is 1.0-10 mm2. PVC compound is used as an insulating material. And each insulated conductor is additionally encased in a sheath made of the same material. The conductors are parallel rather than stranded, which gives the wire a flat shape.

For ease of installation, the insulation of each conductor has a different color. The two-conductor wire is made with brown and blue conductors. And the three-conductor one consists of brown, blue and yellow-green conductors. The color of the outer sheath is usually white or black.

The varieties of the wire are indicated by the letter indices in the marking. Wire with the index «ng» does not support the spread of combustion, which is important when laying in fire hazardous areas. And the index «ngd» indicates that the wire does not support combustion and has a reduced smoke and gas emission. VVPng and VVPngd are used for laying in high temperature conditions and for the installation in bundles.

Operation

The wires VVP, VVPng, VVPngd are intended for operation in a stationary state at temperatures from -40 °C to + 40 °C. Their should be  installed at a temperature not lower than -15 °C.

During laying it is necessary to take into account the minimum bend radius, which should not exceed 10 smallest outer dimensions of the wire.

Long-term permissible heating temperature of wire conductors during operation is + 70 °С.

The service life depends on the operating conditions (moisture, dust, direct sunlight, the frequency of temperature changes) and is at least 15 years. The guaranteed service life is 2 years.
