KGTP, KGTPng are flexible power cables with copper conductors, insulation and sheath made of thermoplastic elastomer.
Flexible power cable KGTP is often used in industry, construction, transport and agriculture to connect temporary objects: construction sites, mobile installations (cranes, winches, hoists, welding machines), connecting objects to generating sets in open areas, connecting mechanisms and equipment to mobile sources of electrical energy. This cable could be used in open areas due to its resistance to sunlight.
Also, KGTP has proved itself as an excellent conductor in a harsh climatic conditions and aggressive environment. It can be used to carry out electrical wiring in mines and open workings. It can also be used in heavy engineering, the production of river and sea vessels.
It is not used for equipment of the stationary electrical networks.
KGTP with the index «ng» does not support combustion, which is especially important in places with a high probability of fire and increased requirements to fire safety.
The design of KGTP, KGTPng consists of one or more insulated copper stranded conductors of the 5th class of flexibility, with round shape (5th class of the National Standards of Ukraine EN 60288). Each conductor is covered with a layer of thermoplastic elastomer. Insulated conductors are stranded together into a core by correct unidirectional twisting, which provides increased cable flexibility. In multi-conductors cables, the free space between the conductors is filled. The sheath is made of blue or black thermoplastic elastomer. In a single-conductor cable, the copper conductor is covered with the insulation and a sheath or immediately with an insulating-protective sheath also made of thermoplastic elastomer.
2-conductors cables have the same conductor cross-section. In the rest of the multi-conductor cables, the neutral conductor or the grounding conductor has a smaller cross-section compared to the phase ones. For the convenience of cutting, the conductors are treated with talcum powder, which reduces the labor intensity of the work.

KGTP, KGTPng are designed to connect mobile mechanisms to power grids at the ambient temperatures from -60 °C to + 50 °C. Installation of the cable without preheating is allowed at a temperature not lower than -15 °С.
KGTP is extremely flexible, the minimum bend radius is at least 8 cable diameters at an admissible heating temperature of the conductors of up to + 75 °С.
Tensile forces on the cable should be no more than 19.6 N (2.0 kgf) per 1 mm2 of the total cross-section of all conductors.
KGTP with a nominal cross-section of the main conductors up to 4 mm2 inclusive and the number of conductors from 2 to 5 inclusive must be resistant to multiple bends through a system of rollers under a current load and withstand at least 30,000 bending cycles.
The cables with a nominal cross-section of the main conductors up to 4 mm2 inclusive (single-conductor and with more than 5 conductors) and cables with a nominal cross-section of the main conductors of 6.0 mm2 and more must be resistant to multiple bends at an angle of ± π/2 rad at a nominal tensile force of 49 H (5.0 kgf).
The service life of cables is not less than 4 years. The guaranteed service life of operation is 6 months, calculated from the date of putting the cables into operation, but not later than 12 months from the date of manufacture.
