Detailed description

AVVGE is a power cable with an aluminum conductor, PVC insulation and sheath, and a shield for protection from external electromagnetic fields. The design feature of AVVGE is a shield that protects external circuits from the influence of electromagnetic fields of the currents passing through the cable

Applicability scope

It has proved to be an excellent conductor in rooms, on the specialized cable tray systems, in blocks, internal electrical installations and places where it is necessary to protect electrical circuits from the influence of the external electric fields. It is used in damp and dry premises of industrial buildings, agricultural buildings, and private households, in damp and partially flooded basements, garages, collectors and mines. It is also can be used for the external work and the outdoor installation.

The cable is not intended for laying in the ground. If necessary, the installation in trenches is allowed only with the use of protective equipment against mechanical damage.

AVVGE is used mainly for the single laying, and the group laying is allowed only in the outdoor electrical installations using fireproofing.

AVVGE cables in a non-combustible sheath are used in the fire-hazardous rooms, public buildings, public places and other facilities with an increased fire hazard. They are marked with the letters «ng» and «ngd». The prefix “ng” means that the AVVGEng cable is flame-retardant, and “ngd” indicates that the AVVGEngd cable is flame-retardant and practically does not emit smoke in the event of a fire. AVVGEng and AVVGEngd can be used for the group laying. They practically do not support combustion in one bundle with other cables.

Cables AVVGE, AVVGEng and AVVGEngd are intended for the transmission and distribution of electricity and signals in stationary electrical installations for a rated alternating voltage of 660 and 1000 V with a frequency of 50 Hz.

Design

The AVVGE design in practice repeats the AVVG design, supplemented with a protective shield. It is based on one or more isolated from each other aluminum conductors of the 1st or 2d flexibility class (class 1, 2 DSTU EN 60228), round or sector shaped. The number of conductors varies from 1 to 5. The conductors are made of the soft aluminum grades, which makes the cable flexible. At the same time, they are not intended for the use in the carriers and temporary wiring, which are exposed to frequent bends. Each conductor is covered with a layer of PVC compound and the upper outer insulation is made of the same material. The protective shield is in the form of copper or aluminum foil wrapped around the conductors with metal inside. This guarantees a high safety when the cable is exposed to radiation and serves as additional protection for the cable.

You can contact the specialists of EUROPAN LLC to get more detailed information on the characteristics of the cable, help in selecting a conductor depending on the load power and the temperature range, as well as an additional advice.

Operation

AVVGE, AVVGEng and AVVGEngd are designed for the stationary operation at the temperatures from -50°C to +50°C. The installation is permissible at a temperature not lower than -15°C, otherwise the cable must be preheated. The maximum permissible air humidity is 98% at a temperature of +35°C

The minimum bend radius during installation for a single-conductor cable is at least 10 outer cable diameters, for a multiconductor cable – at least 7.5 outer cable diameters.

The maximum long-term permissible heating of wires during operation should not exceed 70 °C, in case of a short circuit – 160°C, in an emergency mode – no more than 80°C. Permissible tension strain of the cables along the cable routing should not exceed 30 N/mm2 of the conductor cross-section.

With the proper installation and operation, the service life of the cable is at least 30 years from the date of manufacture. The guaranteed service life is 5 years.
