  • APvBbSHp is a power cable with the aluminum conductors, insulation made of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and a protective sheath of the BbSHp type
  • It is designed for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy in the stationary installations for a rated alternating voltage of 0.66; 1 kV with a frequency of 50 Hz.
  • It is used for laying in earth trenches with any soil corrosivity, regardless of groundwater and leakage currents. It is also laid in rooms, tunnels, channels and partially flooded structures with various corrosive conditions, as well as outdoors, if the cable is not subjected to significant tension strain, but if there is a risk of mechanical damage during operation.
  • The laying in heaving and subsiding soils is not recommended.

Detailed description

APvBbSHp is a power cable with the aluminum conductors, XLPE insulation and the BbSHp-type protective sheath. It is designed for the transmission and distribution of the electrical energy in the stationary installations for a rated alternating voltage of 0.66; 1 kV with a frequency of 50 Hz.

Applicability scope

APvBbSHp cable is universal, the scope of its application is practically unlimited by the working environment conditions. The installation can be carried out at any angle of inclination of the cable route, overland, overhead, in water, with any soil corrosivity and leakage currents, in rooms with high level of humidity and swampy areas, at low temperatures in the working room and in conditions of rapid changes of temperature.

There are only two factors limiting the use of this cable. It should not be subjected to significant mechanical stretching during installation and operation, and it is not recommended to install it in heaving and subsiding soils.

APvBbSHp is used for laying single cable lines in earth trenches, rooms, tunnels, channels and partially flooded structures with various corrosive conditions. It is also could be laid outdoors, if the cable is not subjected to significant tension strain, but if there is a risk of mechanical damage during operation.

Design

The conductors of ApvBbSHv are aluminum, single-wire or multi-wire, round or sector (class 1, 2 DSTU EN 60228). The conductors insulation is made of XLPE. The insulated conductors of multi conductors cables have a distinctive color marking, which can be not only solid, but also in the form of a longitudinal strip. Armor provides maximum protection to the cable. It is made in the form of galvanized steel bands, arranged in such a way that they overlap with each other completely covering the conductor. The outer sheath of the cable is made of light-stabilized polyethylene.

Operation

The cable is designed for the stationary operation at ambient temperature from -50 °C to + 50 °C. The air humidity during APvBbShp operation should not exceed 98% at temperature up to + 35 °С. It is not required to preheat the cable during installation if the ambient temperature is not lower than -15 °C.

The minimum bend radius during installation depends on the number of conductors and must be at least 7.5 outer cable diameters for multi conductors cables and 10 outer cable diameters for single-conductor cables.

The long-term permissible heating temperature of cable conductors during operation is 90 °С, the maximum permissible temperature in case of short-circuit currents is 250 °С, the permissible heating of conductors in an emergency mode is not more than 130 °С.

The service life of the cable is at least 30 years. The guaranteed service life is 5 years.
