Detailed description

AVVGz is a power cable with the aluminum conductors, the polyvinyl chloride insulation and the sheath with filling of the inter-conductors space. It is designed for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy in stationary installations for a rated alternating voltage of 660 V and 1000 V with a frequency of 50 Hz.

Applicability scope

AVVGz is one of the best known among the aluminum power cables. The filler seals the cable, eliminates the free space between its structural elements and gives a shape. Such a cable is usually used for stationary installation in dry and damp industrial premises, on overhead  tray systems, in blocks, in conditions where cable gland is required at the entry to electrical equipment. When laying electrical lines in open areas, a flexible metal conduit and wiring ducts are used to protect the cable. AVVGz is suitable for laying external horizontal and vertical wiring along the walls of various buildings. It is used in industry, agricultural buildings and private households.

The cable is fire resistant in case of single laying. It has good anti-corrosion properties, but at the same time it is not resistant to mechanical stress. It is not intended for use in conditions of intensive kinks, stretching, impacts.

In conditions of increased fire hazard, crowded places and concentration of various values,

AVVGz cables are used in a sheath with non-combustible properties. Due to the special manufacturing technology, AVVGzng is flame-retardant, and AVVGzngd is flame-retardant and has low smoke emission when exposed to high temperatures. AVVGzng and AVVGzngd can be used when laying in bundles.

Design

The design of AVVGz repeats the design of the AVVG cable with filling of the inter-conductors space. And it has the form of an aluminum single-wire or multi-wire conductors (class 1 and 2 DSTU EN 60288), insulated with PVC compound. The PVC is used for both the space between the conductors and the outer sheath of the cable. The number of conductors varies from 1 to 5, with a cross-section from 2.5 mm2 to 300 mm2.

Each conductor has a different color of insulation to ensure safety and ease of use. In its turn, the marking shows the cross-section and the number of conductors in each cable. More detailed information about the cable design and its technical characteristics you can get from the specialists of EUROPAN LLC.

Operation

The operating temperature of AVVGz ranges from -50°C to + 50°C. The permissible air humidity is 98% at a temperature not higher than +35°С. Cable installation without preheating is allowed at a temperature not lower than -15°С.

The bend radius during the installation of the multi conductors cables should be at least 7.5, and for the single-conductor cables – at least 10 outer cable diameters.

The long-term permissible heating temperature of the conductors during operation is 70°С, the maximum permissible temperature in case of short-circuit currents is 160°С, and the permissible conductor heating in an emergency mode is not more than 80°С.

The service life of the cables reaches 30 years while the guaranteed service life is 5 years.
