KVVGE, KVVGEng, KVVGEngd
- KVVGE, KVVGEng, KVVGEngd are control cables with copper conductors, PVC compound insulation, mutual protective shield and PVC sheath.
- They are designed for fixed connection to electrical devices, apparatuses, terminal block jumpers of electrical switchgears with a rated alternating voltage up to 660 V, with a frequency up to 100 Hz or a constant voltage up to 1000 V.
- They are used for laying in rooms, channels, tunnels without mechanical stress on the cable in an aggressive environment and when there is a need to protect electrical circuits from the influence of external electric fields. They can be laid outdoors, provided they are protected from mechanical damage and exposure to direct sunlight.
- 25 years when laying in rooms, tunnels, channels
- 3 x outer diameter - for cables with an outer diameter up to 10 mm inclusive;
- 4 x outer diameter - for cables with an outer diameter over 10 to 25 mm inclusive;
- 6 x outer diameter - for cables with an outer diameter over 25 mm
operation: -50°С to +50°С
The copper conductor is not indicated on the cable marking;
K – control cable;

KVVGE, KVVGEng, KVVGEngd are control cables with copper conductors, PVC compound insulation, mutual protective shield and PVC sheath. They are designed for fixed connection to electrical devices, apparatuses, terminal block jumpers of electrical switchgear with a rated alternating voltage up to 660 V, with a frequency up to 100 Hz or a constant voltage up to 1000 V.
Applicability scope
The control cables are usually used to build control and management lines, relay protection, signaling, blocking networks, remote control, as well as to connect electrical appliances and devices to other control devices. They are used to control the state, position and mode of operation of objects, access to which is difficult or impossible.
KVVGE is used for laying in rooms, channels, tunnels provided there is no mechanical stress on the cable in an aggressive environment and when there is a need to protect electrical circuits from the influence of external electric fields. Installation outdoors is allowed, provided that it is protected from mechanical damage and exposure to direct sunlight.
KVVGE cables made with the use of non-combustible insulating materials are used n places of increased fire hazard, where special fire-prevention measures are required, as well as for laying in bundles. Such cables are marked with indices «ng» and «ngd». KVVGEng is a cable that does not support combustion, and KVVGEngd does not support combustion with a low level of smoke and gas emission during a fire.
Design
The design of KVVGE is based on the single-wire copper conductors of the 1st flexibility class (class 1 of DSTU EN 60228). The conductors are covered with an insulating layer of PVC compound. They have distinctive color or digital markings. The inner and outer sheaths of the cable are also made of PVC compound. And the shield is made of copper or aluminum foil. A separating layer of cable paper or plastic tape can be used to separate the conductors from the outer insulation.
Operation
The operating temperature of KVVGE, KVVGEng, KVVGEngd ranges from -50°C to +50°C. The permissible air humidity is not higher than 98% at a temperature of +35°С. Installation without preheating is possible at temperatures not lower than -15°C.
The bend radius of cables when laying at ambient temperature not lower than 0°С is not less than:
– 3 cable diameters – for cables with an outer diameter up to 10 mm inclusive;
– 4 cable diameters – for cables with an outer diameter over 10 to 25 mm inclusive;
– 6 cable diameters – for cables with an outer diameter over 25 mm.
Long-term permissible conductors heating temperature during operation is +70°С.
The service life of the cables is as follow:
- at least 20 years – when laying in earth trenches and on overpasses, provided they are protected from direct sunlight;
- 25 years – when laid in rooms, channels and tunnels.
The guaranteed service life is 3 years.
