KGVVz, KGVVzng, KGVVzngd
- KGVVz, KGVVzng, KGVVzngd are flexible control cables with copper conductors, PVC insulation and sheath, with filling.
- They are designed for fixed connection to electrical devices, apparatuses, terminal block jumpers of electrical switchgears with a rated alternating voltage up to 660 V, a frequency up to 100 Hz or a constant voltage up to 1000 V.
- They are laid in conditions where there is a need of the cable gland at the input to electrical equipment. They are used for laying in rooms, channels, tunnels, in an aggressive environment, provided there is no mechanical stress on the cable. They can be laid outdoors, provided they are protected from mechanical damage and exposure to direct sunlight. The laying in the ground (in trenches) is allowed while ensuring the protection of the cable at the points of exit to the surface.
operation: 10 x outer diameter
operation: -50°С to +50°С
The copper conductor is not indicated on the cable marking;
K – control cable;
G – flexible;
V – PVC compound insulation of conductors;
V – PVC outer sheath;
z – filling of the inter-conductors space;
«ng» – does not support combustion;
«ngd» – does not support combustion, with reduced smoke and gas emission.

KGVVz, KGVVzng, KGVVzngd are flexible control cables with copper conductors, PVC insulation and sheath, with filling. They are used for fixed installation of power circuits, control circuits and local lighting on machine tools and mechanisms at a voltages up to 660 V alternating current, a frequency of 50 Hz or 1000 V direct current.
Applicability scope
Flexible control cables KGVVz, KGVVzng, KGVVzngd are intended for the electric installations demanding cables gland at input and are applied to fixed installation of power circuits, control circuits of devices and mechanisms. They are used mainly for a single stationary laying in places where there is a need of the conductor with an increased flexibility, in cable constructions, rooms, tunnels, channels. The laying outdoors and in aggressive environment is possible provided that there is no risk of mechanical damages and the protective measures against an ultraviolet and other sources of thermal radiation are observed. It is not recommended to lay KGVVz in the ground and in open places where it can get sunlight.
It is recommended to use KGVVzng and KGVVzngd for the bundle laying since their polyvinylchloride sheath does not support combustion.
Design
Unlike the KVVGz cable, designed using a single-wire conductor, the KGVVz design is based on a round conductive multi-wire flexible conductor. The conductors are copper, with the 5th flexibility class (class 5 DSTU EN 60228), covered with a layer of PVC compound and stranded together. The conductors insulation is color-coded. Each layer contains a marker pair of conductors, which differ in color from the rest of the conductors and from each other. If the number of conductors in the cable is up to 5, then each of them has its own individual color.
Also, multi-conductor cables can consist of conductors of different cross-sections. For example, the grounding conductor and the neutral conductor may be smaller in comparison to the rest. The insulated conductors are encased in a PVC-compound sheath, and all gaps between them are filled with the sheath material or nonvulcanized rubber.
The letter index «ng» in the cable marking indicates that its sheath is made of PVC compound of low flammability. And the index «ngd» indicates that the cable does not support combustion and has a reduced smoke generation and low toxicity of the gases emitted. You can get more detailed information about the design features of the cable and help in selecting a conductor from the experts of EUROPAN LLC by contacting the phones listed on the website.
Operation
Cables are designed for stationary operation at ambient temperatures from -50°C to +50°C and a relative air humidity up to 98% at temperature up to +35°C. However, installation without preheating is permissible at a temperature not lower than -15°C.
The maximum permissible heating of conductors during operation should not exceed +70°С.
The permissible bend radius of the conductor during installation is 7 outer cable diameters. The minimum radius during operation is 10 outer cable diameters.
The service life of the cables is at least 15 years, and the guaranteed service life is 3 years.
EUROPAN Cable Plant produces high-quality, reliable and durable control cables of various label sizes, as well as other cable and wire products in a wide range. Power cables, wires and cords for various purposes, wires for overhead power lines – this is just a part of the products presented on our website. You can familiarize yourself with the product, select and buy control cables KGVVz and other products at wholesale prices on the company’s website or by contacting the sales department.
