PV3 wire is a wire of increased flexibility intended for electrical installations with stationary laying in lighting and power networks. It is also used for the installation of electrical equipment, machines, mechanisms and machine tools for a rated voltage of up to 450 V (for networks up to 450/750 V) with a frequency of up to 400 Hz or a constant voltage of up to 1000 V.

PV3 is used for mounting sections of electrical circuits where wire bends are possible. It is used in all spheres of production and industry for the installation of electrical equipment, mechanisms, machine tools, communication systems, as well as electrical wiring in apartments. Due to its high resistance to humidity and high temperatures, PV3 is also used in baths and bathrooms.

To carry out external wiring, it is necessary to use trays, conduits and wiring ducts that protect PV3 from the mechanical damage and ultraviolet radiation.

The wire is resistant to mold fungi, mechanical shock, bending, vibration loads and acoustic noise. And the ease of use during installation, excellent physicochemical properties of insulation and durability have provided it with recognition among electricians and extremely widespread use. PV3 is a single-conductor wire and is produced with a cross-section of 0.5 – 240 mm2. At the heart of its design is a copper multi-wire conductor of the 5th flexibility class (class 5 of the National Standards of Ukraine EN 60228). It is assembled from several copper wires, stranded together. This design provides the wire with increased flexibility, distinguishing this brand from PV1 wire.

PV3 insulation is made of PVC compound. It does not burn, but begins to liquefy when heated. The color of the insulation can be very different and depends on the purpose of using the wire. The coloring of PV3 can be either solid or made in the form of two diametrically located stripes. At the same time, the insulating sheath of a wire used only for grounding always has a green-yellow color.

There is a variety of PV3, marked with the letter index «ngd». PV3ngd is manufactured using non-combustible PVC, which does not spread combustion and emits a minimum amount of smoke and gas during a fire. Such wire is used for a group laying, in conditions with a high probability of fire and in places with increased fire safety requirements.

The operating temperature of PV3 and PV3ngd ranges from -50°C to +50°C. The permissible air humidity is 100% at a temperature not higher than +35°С. The installation without preheating is possible at temperatures not lower than -15°C.

The minimum bend radius during installation is at least 5 outer wire diameters.

The conductor heating temperature during operation should not exceed +70°С.

The service life of the wires is 15 years. The guaranteed service life is 2 years.

Application scope
